Adaawx is the history - or true tellings - of how we got to this present moment. There are stories which tie us all together, including when we were once in the House of the Creator. There is also Adaawx that pertains to very specific, unique places, peoples, and events recorded verbally, in songs, dances, rituals, Pts'aan and crests, blankets, house fronts...
Purpose of Adaawx
Land Claims
It is important you understand Adaawx of your Waap, it will shed light on your role and responsibilities. There are events which led to the distribution of land & resources, and to whom it may be allocated. These data are Adaawx.
Purpose & Balance
Understanding Adaawx of your mother's past offers guidance in your tribe. If you know where you come from, it is easier to decide where you want to go. What may have łagigyet (ancestors) done in similar situations? Adaawx offers insight.
Identification
Knowing your Adaawx will verify your claim, allows you to understand yourself and the land. Songs and dances are based off an individual's Adaawx. Songs & dances can also be shared amongst Pte'ex (clans - phratries).
Grand Narrative
Other than managing land and understanding the interconnectivity of families, the Adaawx relates to the purpose of the Ayaawk. Adaawx is the story of returning to the heavens; the story of how we become real in spirit, once again.
Intensive Training
There is much to learn within the Adaawx. What you may do with the information is a completely different story. The Sigid'm Hana'ak would primarily oversee your progress in not only understanding of the Adaawx but competency in action when applying it within your Waap.
